We adore Zygos Taverna in Istron, Kalo Horio near to the town of Agios Nikolaos in Lasithi.
The speciality of the house is the delicious spit roasted suckling pig, which is served with oven roasted local potatoes & fresh salad

We can highly recommend the friendly Astrea Restaurant high up in the old village of Platanias near Chania. The view from this fabulous restaurant is to die for...more on Astrea Restaurant.
Local Cretan diet food does not come any better than the delicious and huge meals served up at Piperia in Kalyves near Chania.
For Big British Breakfast lovers we thought Shells at Almyrida near Chania was the best. New owners took over in April 2008 - we wish them all the best and look forward to receiving a restaurant review, now it's under new ownership!
STALIS,
Heraklion Prefecture
If you’re staying in the Stalis Malia area in the region of Heraklion try the Nine Muses Taverna found by going west past the Blue Sea Hotel, this for a bargain bumper breakfast served with all the trimmings.
Or try Mythos Restaurant right on the beach at Stalis for a perfect setting and relaxing breakfast, lunch or dinner.
BEST BREAKFAST IN STALIS has to be the Belly Buster served at the
Robin Hood.
