Aghia Marina Beach Agia Marina is a very popular tourist resort just 10 kilometres from Chania town. The beach and the resort get very busy at the height of the season – July and August. But the long sandy beach is big enough to accommodate the crowds who adore this resort for the accommodation facilities, food and drink at the sea front tavernas and bars. On the beach itself visitors can also enjoy all the facilities you would expect for swimming, sunbathing and water sports. The nearest village to the Beach is Aghia Marina.
Rethymno Town Beach stretches seemingly endlessly more than 20 kilometres along the sandy shore at Rethymnon. It offers full facilities including lively beach bars and many Tavernas, and is often busy and buzzing. Plenty of watersports facilities can be found on this superb beach. There is also a diving centre, diving trips and diving lessons available. The nearest town to Rethymno Beach is Rethymno Town. Hani Kokkini Beach Just a few kilometres east of Heraklion on the north coast lies this popular and busy lively resort. It is well known for offering plenty of luxurious hotels as well as numerous tavernas, bars and shops. Lots of facilities for great swimming and sunbathing are found here. It’s one of the most famous, popular tourist resorts on the island of Crete, and is one of the most trendy beaches on the island. It is 27 kilometres east of Heraklion Town, on the northern coast. One of the most popular beaches with young people is Star Beach. It’s the beach in front of the Water Park, and it offers lots of fun activities including giant slides and bungee jumping. As well as sunbathing on the beach, you can also do some paragliding, rent a water-jet or take a trip on a banana-boat. Many of the beach bars in Hersonissos have resident DJs playing the very latest music. The beach itself has golden sand and crystalline azure waters. The nearest village to Hersonissos Beaches is Hersonissos. Aghios Nikolaos Beach Slap bang in the centre of the cosmopolitan and chic shopping town of Aghios Nikolaos in the Lassithi region is the unromantic sounding Municipal Beach. Thankfully it is sooooooooo much better than it sounds!
